2° day: (H.B) FERRARA - GAMBULAGA

Breakfast at the hotel and morning dedicated to visiting the city and its monuments: the Castle, the Cathedral, Via delle Volte, Palazzo dei Diamanti, Piazza Ariostea etc.. Outside the walls, the oldest church in the city, which we advice you to visit when you take the cycle path to Gambulaga, starting near the Bagni Ducali. The route winds through cultivated countryside up to Voghenza, in the past an important centre on the banks of the ancient Po river. When the Este family built the Delizia di Belriguardo, Voghiera assumed greater importance. In Voghenza it is recommended to visit the Tomb of San Leo inside the Church, the Museum of Modelling and the remains of the Roman Necropolis. After Voghiera it is absolutely worth seeing the Delizia di Belriguardo considered the Versailles of the time and its archaeological museum. A few kilometres from Gambulaga, it is possible to admire the exterior of another masterpiece Belriguardo Castle, near which there are the Due Laghi del Verginese (Two Verginese Lakes). Dinner and overnight stay in hotel/farmhouse.

Few people know that the monk Guido d'Arezzo, during his stay in Pomposa, was the first to code the modern structure in musical notes.
