1° day: (B.B) ferrara

Arrival in Ferrara and check-in at the hotel. Around  6:00 PM, meet with our representative, who will hand over the bicycles (if booked) and provide an explanation of the itinerary.

2° day: (H.B) from Ferrara to Gambulaga Km. 28,00

In the morning, explore the medieval-Renaissance city, wandering its narrow streets and hidden gardens. The city offers rich cultural events, including the famous Palio in May, with flag-waving rehearsals throughout the month. Must-see sights include the Castle, Duomo, Via delle Volte, the city walls, Palazzo dei Diamanti, the Jewish Quarter, and Massari Park. Continue on the cycle path to Gambulaga, passing through the countryside to Voghenza, an ancient riverside hub. Visit the Tomb of San Leo, the Modelling Museum, and the Roman Necropolis. Don't miss the Delizia di Belriguardo, known as the "Versailles of its time," and its archaeological museum. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel or farmhouse.

3° day: (H.B) From Gambulaga To Pomposa/volano Km. 39,00/47,00

After breakfast, depart for Pomposa/Volano. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to admire Tresigallo, known as the "metaphysical city," and Gherardi, referred to as the "city of cinema" with its beautiful murals. You’ll ride through the countryside, enjoying its vibrant colors, until you reach Pomposa, where you can marvel at the stunning Abbey and its frescoes. Before heading to the hotel, treat yourself to a tasting of local wines from the sandy soils, paired with traditional delicacies. Arrival at the hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

4° day: (B.B) From Pomposa To Comacchio Km. 37,00

From the Abbey of Pomposa, follow the bike path along the Po di Volano River or through the reclaimed Giralda Valley, where you can admire the Canneviè Oasis and its rich birdlife. Pass by the Torre della Finanza and continue to Lido di Volano. Ride through the Pineta di Volano Nature Reserve towards Lido delle Nazioni, enjoying the wild, untouched coastline. Follow the route along the lake and beaches to Porto Garibaldi, renowned for its fishing fleet, where you can savor fresh fish. Take the ferry to Lido degli Estensi and then cycle toward the Valleys of Comacchio, where you’ll be treated to views of flamingos and other bird species before arriving at the lagoon village of Comacchio. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or farmhouse.

5° day:(H.B) From Comacchio To Argenta Km. 47,00

After breakfast, depart for a morning visit to the historic center of Comacchio, famous for its churches and bridges, especially the iconic Trepponti, a 17th-century pentagonal bridge that reflects the town's lagoon heritage. We recommend a "batana" boat tour along the canals, guided by local volunteers, and visits to the Cathedral of San Cassiano, the Loggiato dei Cappuccini, Santa Maria in Aula Regia, and the Manifattura dei Marinati Museum, where marinated eel is still produced. After the tour, head to Argenta via the Comacchio Lagoon, crossing the reclaimed Mezzano marshes, or take quieter roads. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel or farmhouse.

6° day: (B.B) From Argenta To Ferrara Km. 41,00

Just outside Argenta, a town rebuilt after being razed during World War II, don’t miss the chance to visit the historic Pieve di San Giorgio and the stunning Valli, freshwater marshes created for land reclamation. Explore the surrounding lowland forest, perfect for birdwatching, and discover the Argenta Valleys Natural History Museum and the Reclamation Museum. From here, follow a mix of cycle paths and roads along the Po di Primaro, arriving in Ferrara by 18:00. Upon arrival, return your bicycle, bag, and helmet.
