The tour begins in Ferrara, the city of the Este family, where you’ll admire the Castle, the Cathedral, and Palazzo dei Diamanti. In May, the flag bearers of the Palio, the oldest in Italy, perform in the town square.
From Ferrara, you’ll follow the bike path to Polesella and Adria, an ancient Etruscan settlement, then cross Loreo and the Lusenzo lagoon to reach Chioggia. Here, you can extend your stay for a scenic ride on the island of Pellestrina.
Leaving Chioggia, you’ll cycle along Via delle Valli to Porto Levante, crossing the Po Delta valleys to reach Goro, where a seafood lunch awaits. The tour continues to Comacchio, the “little Venice,” with a visit to the salt pans and flamingos. Finally, you’ll arrive in Argenta to explore the Campotto Oasis and the Valleys Museum, before returning to Ferrara.
