– Argenta - Ferrara
9 days – 8 nights – 7 days bike tour

Ferrara, Chioggia or Pomposa /Volano
Difficulty level: Easy, family friendly.
Your tour starts in Ferrara, the city of the Este family, where you
can admire the Castle, the Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Diamanti.
Every weekend in May the flag-wavers of the various contrade
(districts) of the Palio (the oldest in Italy) perform in the
municipal square. It takes place every year on the last Sunday in May
in Piazza Ariostea. Following the cycle path to Francolino, you reach
Polesella and then Adria, which was an Etruscan settlement on the
river Adrias at the beginning of the 6th century BC. From Adria,
passing through Loreo and following the Lusenzo lagoon, you will
arrive in Chioggia (if you wish you can extend your stay by one night
and take a beautiful ride to the island of Pellestrina). Starting
from Chioggia, you can admire the town and its lagoon, pedalling
along via delle valli to Porto Levante. You will cross the lagoon of
the Po Delta to arrive in Goro where you can visit the small port and
have lunch in a typical restaurant with a fish menu. You will then
continue to Comacchio, well-known as little Venice. Here you will
have the opportunity to visit the Saline, salt-works (reservation is
required). This is the home for thousands of pink flamingos and other
wildlife. You will then continue to Argenta and here you will have
the pleasure of visiting the Oasis of Campotto, the wetland of Valle
Santa and Museo delle Valli. Last stop from Argenta to Ferrara.
Please note: The tour can also depart from Pomposa or Chioggia,
maintaining the same stops and services.
